Blue Eagle Pottery

Robert Blue and Susan B. Galloway, a husband and wife team, work in a studio just outside Woodstock, Illinois.  Their studio became operational in 1984, and their gallery opened two years later in Franklinville, Illinois. Their love of pottery is evident in their work. Bob has been working with clay since 1967 and Susan since 1969. As well as working in the studio part time Susan has been teaching pottery at McHenry County College since 1976.
Bob and Susan now work exclusively in stoneware clay for production pottery. Their method of choice is a reduction fired kiln using natural gas. This firing method by nature creates some slight variation in color. They have both been potting for over 40 years and are very consistent in their methods.

Our work embodies skill, insight, and respect for both the material and process. It is useful in the kitchen, on the table, or as an accent to decor. All pieces are safe for use in the dishwasher and microwave and can even be used in the oven with proper care. The warmth and beauty crafted into each pot will touch those who use it. "Enjoy the fruits of our labor; we enjoyed making each piece."
