Jewelry

Jewelry, well chosen, can set the tone…from business meeting to social event. Jewelry is to an outfit like the last brush stroke of a painting. Wear it and your spirits soar…happiness, confidence, appreciation or maybe a fond memory of receiving it as a gift. A piece that has been hand crafted is worthy of being passed on and becomes a very special heirloom.

Artisan’s ever changing selection showcases as many as 75 American craftsmen. The jewelers who create for our collection fabricate in a vast assortment of materials, sterling silver, 14KT gold, brass, copper, clay, pewter and glass. Many pieces result from very unique techniques including patinas and casting. Creativity flows with the addition of semi precious stones, crystal, glass, beads of all kind, buttons, fabric and unusual adornments. Every finished piece is a work of art telling its own story.

  • Julie has been creating dichroic, glass jewelry for over 20 years. She inherited the love of glass from her mother.  Julie began her glass career by selling her jewelry at shows, home parties, and then to stores and galleries. Then, in 2001, the glass jewelry became her full time business. She loves creating one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces. She also applies decals to the glass for a variety of patterns. Julie is thrilled to be able to focus on the craft that she loves, and to have a home business.
  • The ladies of Tempest in a Teapot search the New Jersey/Pennsylvania flea markets and auctions for vintage silver plate flatware that is 60 -120 years old. These found pieces of Americana become glorified, recycled history. Creatively they “re-purpose” their finds crafting unique bracelets with easy to wear magnetic clasps. Another favorite from Tempest is their Angel Bell necklace……. The fact that silver plated flatware is no longer produced in the USA results in an artistic,  wearable piece of history! An ideal gift for the person who has everything.
  • John and Linda have been using the traditional methods of metalsmithing since the early 1970's to present their own interpretations of objects of adornment. They are inspired by their cumulative life journeys and the artisans that have preceded them. The metals of the studio are vast and include red brass, nickel silver, bronze, copper, fine silver and sterling silver.  The final pieces often include polymer clay, semi-precious stones, leather cords, and chains and become magical adornments that are treasured by their owners.
  • Sierra Jewelry is created in the studio of Sonoma Art Works, located in Sonoma Valley amidst the vineyards of northern California’s wine country. The jewelry is designed by the artist Cheryl Sirkus whose creations begin on her sketch pad and are transformed into the precious metals that are used. The majority of the original designs have been hand cast in sterling silver and 14k gold vermeil. They capture the feeling of elegance and femininity in a very understated way. The semiprecious gemstones and pearls enhance their subtle and natural beauty.
  • Kathy Bransfield began her craft in Cincinnati. At a young age she traveled the country honing her skills and selling her wares. She now resides in sun soaked California and continues to be inspired by life’s complex beauty and all its diversity. Kathy is delighted to be able to share history’s most brilliant visionaries with you giving each piece a distinct meaning. Meticulously crafted in her sterling silver and 22k gold, she cleverly uses the two tones and creates a piece that opens to the very special messages. We love that the on looker knows there is something written inside and the wearer can choose to share it or keep it as their own personal inspiration. Each finished piece embodies the essence Kathy’s unfaltering cheerful spirit. Wear these words close to your heart.

  • As a teenager, Jim Mullan became intrigued with old watches, vintage toys, and scientific instruments.  In the process of taking things apart and putting them back together, he began pairing some of the old pieces with his favorite things found in nature, such as, bird, dragonfly and animal components to create one of a kind mixed media jewelry and assemblages. He enjoys combining natural materials such as, freshwater pearls and semi-precious stones, with found and recycled objects to give his designs a time worn, yet renewed feeling!

  • Torn between his passion for both art and business, David left his hospitality financial consulting career to travel the world to write, paint, and contemplate his future. After three years of adventures around the globe, he ended up in the East Village of New York City in 1991. Determined to pursue a more creative path, he purchased a small bag of beads from an African bead store and taught himself how to make earrings. The business grew as David drove throughout New York and New England selling his creations store-to-store. His travels eventually led him to the Mad River Valley in Vermont where he decided to relocate. Today, the Baked Beads company continues to grow by offering clean, colorful jewelry, scarves, and other accessories emphasizing style and moderate price points.  Most importantly, David, his wife Robin and their amazing crew are having as much fun making jewelry today as they were 25 years ago.
  • The Austin Design company is a group of artisans that craft each and every piece by hand. They pride themselves not only in their original designs but also in the quality and workmanship that goes into every piece. They blend the colors and elements to create a feeling of the ocean. The sea-style glass used in the jewelry is primarily recycled glass, created from broken bottles, stained glass remnants, and beads. This colorful glass is broken, formed and finished in their studio, then tumbled with genuine beach sand, gravel, and salt water to replicate the roll of ocean waves. The resulting sand-etched finish turns these pieces into modern sea jewels, resembling the natural beach glass found along the shore. The matte finish and beachy colors combine in a peaceful way mimicking the peace found when sitting or walking any shoreline.
  • Kim has always loved to draw so the fine detailing required in carving was just right for him. He has been a full time scrimshaw artist for 40 years. Once he purchases fossils from the Native American Indians in Alaska, he works around cracks, fissures and chunks of bark as he slices, polishes and engraves them. Thus a fossilized mastodon or mammoth develops a story of its own---designed and carved by Kim and reproduced by his wife, Katherine in a sculptural casting resin base. Kim creates a wide variety of designs including trees, nature, wildlife, women/fairies, nautical, Judaica, celestial...and the list goes on! Each engraving is also available as a standalone jewelry piece. Engravings are available as wearables, money clips and as framed and matted images.
  • Crazyartgirl Jewelry is a small family run company currently located in Alden, NY.  Artist Kristine Lewis’s design shines in the “Embraceling”. Silver plated tubing hides the magic of the stainless steel memory coil which allows the bracelet to retain its shape. Add beads, semi-precious stones, pearls, glass or shell and the result is fabulous art to wear.
  • Anne Koplik’s jewelry collections are proudly designed and handcrafted in their Brewster, NY studio. • Tom’s inspirations include: organic shapes in the New England countryside, the ocean in its fluid changing forms, and the music and dance that fill his life outside the jewelry studio and reminds him of the proportion, balance, movement and grace he strives for in his jewelry designs. His design process incorporates a lifelong exploration of linear forms in space, and attention to the interplay of aesthetics and the fabrication process (if it’s too complicated to make, it’s probably not a good design!).
