  • Founded in 2006, Anne Vaughan Designs was created so Anne could find a way to work while doing her first job – being a mom. Created in the basement of a tiny brick ranch home, Anne began creating one piece of jewelry a day as a side hustle after the birth of her son, Gabe. Soon her husband Aaron was creating displays and traveling with her to shows and teaching himself print and web marketing at night in order to help her.  As her collection grew she embraced the idea of layering. Her necklaces are stunning as one and become dramatic statements telling a story when worn in layers. Anne’s choice of materials and her expertise with color make her a stand out in the American handmade jewelry arena. Tens of thousands of pieces of distinct jewelry later (all handcrafted in her Virginia studio) and dozens of retail locations across the United States, Anne continues to design each individual item with a talented team of makers supporting her work.

  • Beautiful free formed "velvet" Mesquite wood, inlaid Turquoise and pierced Copper. A small staff of craftsmen contribute to the making of the lamps and shades at W. Kohler. The business has grown throughout the years, but the uniqueness and quality of each lamp remains. Lamp bases are free formed “Velvet” Mesquite harvested from the Sonora Desert, which is some of the most diverse and dense wood found anywhere on Earth. Each piece is handcrafted making it a one-of-a-kind heirloom. Turquoise is inlaid in the naturally developed cracks of the wood. Each lamp is topped off with a shade hand crafted in 100% copper with a unique pierced design. The copper shade is finished with a hand applied patina and a clear lacquer finish to protect it. The result is MAGICAL as the design is cast on to the wall when lit. Nature’s finest elements are brought together in a brilliant display of craftsmanship and artistry. These lamps are inlaid with brilliant turquoise, worked into mesquite wood burls; two materials emblematic of the American Southwest, where they are made. No two are the same, each reflecting the unique characteristics and personality of a single tree.

  • Artist Brooke Andrews is one of are few artists who create pins and each includes a story card making them very special. Read on about Brooke’s very particular process… each piece begins with a vision, spontaneously toying with her imagination, until it feels “ripened.” Then she sketches the image directly onto porcelain clay, using techniques in the tradition of bas relief carving. The final design rises out of the porcelain “canvas” after many hours of coaxing, gently carving away the layers of “negative space” – what the design is not. Once the design is developed, the original piece is bisque fired. Clay hand press molds are created from the “mother piece,” and kiln fired. The “children” or actual product pieces are hand pressed into the molds using white or color-stained porcelain clay, then bisque fired. Next, color stains are applied, dried, and wiped down to reveal the detail of the relief carving. Underglazes provide highlights. The second kiln firing fixes this layer of color. Finally, an over glaze, containing 11% gold by weight, is carefully painted around the edge to frame each piece and to accent designs such as the Fireflies and Iris. The third and final firing brings the images to life, wonderful art to wear!

  • Marty Kubicki does all of the design work, original engravings, master mold work, and is personally involved in every aspect of The Porcelain Garden studio. Their first creations were functional household ceramics, with sculpted flower decorations; hence the name “The Porcelain Garden.” During the early 1980s, the artists started carving in translucent porcelain, and enjoyed the direction that their work was taking them. When they were introduced to Lithophanes by a collector, they had never seen such amazing work done in porcelain before! This wonderful art form had nearly disappeared, and only a few people were still familiar with it. There was a huge potential appeal that these beautiful artworks had, so the artists set out to reintroduce Lithophanes to the world. They originated the concept of Lithophanes as nightlights, at a time when few artists were making tasteful and artistic nightlights. Their long-term commitment to supplying the highest quality porcelain lighting possible has resulted in an enormously loyal following and notable respect in the American Handcrafts Community.

  • Kim has always loved to draw so the fine detailing required in carving was just right for him. He has been a full time scrimshaw artist for 40 years. Once he purchases fossils from the Native American Indians in Alaska, he works around cracks, fissures and chunks of bark as he slices, polishes and engraves them. Thus a fossilized mastodon or mammoth develops a story of its own---designed and carved by Kim and reproduced by his wife, Katherine in a sculptural casting resin base. Kim creates a wide variety of designs including trees, nature, wildlife, women/fairies, nautical, Judaica, celestial...and the list goes on! Each engraving is also available as a standalone jewelry piece. Engravings are available as wearables, money clips and as framed and matted images.
  • The Austin Design company is a group of artisans that craft each and every piece by hand. They pride themselves not only in their original designs but also in the quality and workmanship that goes into every piece. They blend the colors and elements to create a feeling of the ocean. The sea-style glass used in the jewelry is primarily recycled glass, created from broken bottles, stained glass remnants, and beads. This colorful glass is broken, formed and finished in their studio, then tumbled with genuine beach sand, gravel, and salt water to replicate the roll of ocean waves. The resulting sand-etched finish turns these pieces into modern sea jewels, resembling the natural beach glass found along the shore. The matte finish and beachy colors combine in a peaceful way mimicking the peace found when sitting or walking any shoreline.
  • Torn between his passion for both art and business, David left his hospitality financial consulting career to travel the world to write, paint, and contemplate his future. After three years of adventures around the globe, he ended up in the East Village of New York City in 1991. Determined to pursue a more creative path, he purchased a small bag of beads from an African bead store and taught himself how to make earrings. The business grew as David drove throughout New York and New England selling his creations store-to-store. His travels eventually led him to the Mad River Valley in Vermont where he decided to relocate. Today, the Baked Beads company continues to grow by offering clean, colorful jewelry, scarves, and other accessories emphasizing style and moderate price points.  Most importantly, David, his wife Robin and their amazing crew are having as much fun making jewelry today as they were 25 years ago.
